About Endurance Pilates and Yoga

Endurance Pilates and Yoga LLC is a Classical Pilates and movement studio located in Boston’s South End, founded by Julie Erickson, Master Pilates Trainer, Yoga Teacher, Personal Trainer, Nutrition Coach, and Intuitive Healer.

Endurance was created to support people in building strength, resilience, and trust in their bodies through intelligent, sustainable movement. The studio is known for its nervous-system–aware approach, emphasis on precision and lineage, and commitment to long-term physical health rather than short-term fitness trends.

Our Philosophy

At Endurance, the body is not treated as a problem to fix, but as a system to understand.

Many people arrive at Pilates because something hurts, feels tight, or no longer works the way it used to. Our work begins by recognizing that the body has been adapting intelligently to life’s demands for years—sometimes decades. Pain, stiffness, and imbalance are often signals, not failures.

Endurance teaches Classical Pilates as a method of awareness, strength, and integration, helping clients develop stability, mobility, and confidence without forcing or overriding the nervous system. The goal is not performance, but sustainability—movement that supports the body over a lifetime.

Much of this philosophy is explored in greater depth through our ongoing reflections in Studio Notes.

Why Endurance Exists

Endurance was founded to offer an alternative to high-intensity, one-size-fits-all fitness models.

The studio serves clients who want:

  • Intelligent strength rather than exhaustion

  • Precision rather than force

  • A relationship with their body built on trust, not pressure

Clients include people recovering from injury, managing chronic pain, navigating aging, returning to movement after burnout, or simply seeking a deeper understanding of how their body works.

The Endurance Community

Endurance Pilates and Yoga is more than a studio—it is a learning environment and community.

Clients are encouraged to ask questions, move at an appropriate pace, and develop awareness over time. Classes and private sessions are designed to meet individuals where they are, while maintaining the integrity of the Classical Pilates method.

Education, reflection, and consistency are central to the culture of the studio.

A Note From Julie

After more than 30 years of teaching, one truth remains consistent:
The body is always communicating, and it responds best when it feels safe, supported, and understood.

Endurance exists to create that environment—one body, one practice, one conversation at a time.
